Vacation houses and kitnets in Lagoa Santa, Goiás

The cheapest option for groups and large families, plus the rural lodgings outside downtown, with direct contacts.

Updated on 2026-10-08

For anyone going to Lagoa Santa, in the state of Goiás, Brazil, as a group, as a large family or for more than a week, renting a house or kitnet is usually the math that works best. You split the cost per person, cook at home, have a yard for the car and the barbecue, and you are a few minutes from the hot-spring lagoon and the Rio Aporé. It is also the preferred format for anglers, who leave early and come back with fish to clean.

The houses and kitnets are scattered across downtown and along the riverbank on Avenida Ulisses Guimarães. A kitnet, here, is a bedroom with a bathroom and a small kitchen, good for a couple or a trio; a house is the whole property, with two or three bedrooms. Few are listed on rental apps: most are arranged directly with the owner by phone or WhatsApp, and the nightly rate changes with the number of people, the season and the length of stay. During Carnalagoa, July, the year-end holidays and long weekends, almost everything is booked weeks in advance.

Agree on everything in writing before paying a deposit. Confirm by WhatsApp the total price, what is included, check-in and check-out times and the cancellation policy. The details below are for information and may change.

Rural lodging

Outside downtown, on small farms and ranches a few kilometers from town, there are rural lodgings for anyone wanting total silence, green space and contact with the countryside. They are ideal for groups that prefer to keep to themselves, with room for the children and a barbecue, and still minutes by car from the lagoon. There is also Camping Rei Inca, in a protected grove, with water, electricity and igloo-style units, for those traveling with a tent.

What to ask before booking (tips for groups)

Since every house has a different owner, there is no standard. This list avoids surprises on arrival:

  • Bed and bath linens: are they included, or does everyone bring their own? How many beds, and what size? Is there a spare mattress?
  • Kitchen: is there a stove, refrigerator, pots, plates and cutlery for the number of people? Is there gas? A barbecue and utensils?
  • Air conditioning or fan: from September to March the nights are hot. Ask which rooms have air conditioning and whether electricity use is included.
  • Pets: allowed? With a fee? What size?
  • Security deposit: is one required? How much, and when is it returned?
  • Capacity: what is the maximum number of people? Is there a charge per extra person?
  • Water and internet: is there a water tank with a good reserve? Is there Wi-Fi? Cell signal in the area is patchy.
  • Cleaning: is the house handed over clean? Does it need to be returned clean, or is there a fee?
  • Boat: if the group is going fishing, ask whether the owner can recommend a boatman or a boat; the riverside houses usually have a contact.
  • Payment: Pix (Brazil's instant payment system) is the most common. Ask for a receipt for the deposit and the full name of the person in charge.
