The town in one minute

Lagoa Santa is a municipality of about 1,400 residents (2022 Census) and 463 km² in the far south of Goiás, on the left bank of the Rio Aporé. It was a district of Itajá under the name Termas de Itajá until it became an independent municipality on July 21, 1997. The economy revolves around hot-spring tourism, cattle ranching and services.

The main attraction is the natural lagoon of thermal, mineral and sulfurous water, with a constant temperature of around 31 °C and a flow of 3.6 million liters per hour, inside the Thermas Lagoa Santa complex. Around it lies a protected forest with wooden boardwalks, trails and plenty of life: fish, Cerrado birds and, with luck, capybaras.
